Kessel Remains Hot, Schultz Returns To Lineup

The Pittsburgh Penguins won their fourth straight game against the Coyotes in four games at PPG Paints Arena, winning Tuesday night by a score of 4-1.

The Pens are now 5-0-1 at home this season, winning 5 straight since their season opener (a 5-4 OT loss to St. Louis on October 4). The pairing of Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin continue to produce, as both men notched a goal and two assists in the game. Kessel now has 5 goals and 14 assists, putting him in a 5-way tie for 5th in league scoring with 19 points.

Malkin and Kessel were the assistants on the first goal of the game by Penguin defenseman Justin Schultz, who returned the lineup after missing six games to injury. After the game, Schultz spoke about getting back into rhythm:

Hopewell Township Native Among The Dead In Texas Shooting

A native of Hopewell Township and his wife are among those killed in a mass shooting at a church near San Antonio. Scott Marshall and his wife Karen were looking for a new church on Sunday when a gunman killed 26 people at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs. The couple visited family in Pennsylvania just last week. The 58-year-old was retired from the Air Force and living in La Vernia, Texas.

Body Found In Ohio River In Moon Township

A body has been found in the Ohio River in Moon Township. Moon police were notified by a tow boat crew that members of that crew had seen a body floating down the river near the Sewickley Bridge area. The crew tried to reach the body, but it went over the Dashields Dam. Police as well as lock and dam workers were on the scene overnight. The situation is being reassessed this morning. Authorities say the body appeared to have been in the water for quite some time. The gender appeared to be female, according to police….but nothing has been confirmed.

Penguins Preview: November 7, 2017

The Penguins return to home ice for the first time since October 26 as they do battle with the Arizona Coyotes at 7:00pm at the PPG Paints Arena.

Arizona, under the leadership of former Penguin player and assistant coach Rick Tocchet, comes into this game with a record of 2-12-2, the worst record in the NHL. The Penguins have owned the Coyotes at home recently, winning 3 in a row by a combined margin of 16-1 since 2014-15.

Penguin winger Phil Kessel spoke about his relationship with Coach Tocchet, with whom he won consective Stanley Cups:

Meanwhile, the Penguins’ record of 8-6-2 is good enough for 3rd in the Metropolitan, only one point behind Columbus and the Devils for 1st place. Despite that, they’ve lost 4 of 5 and have only scored 13 goals in their last 8 games.

Police Seek Help In Identifying Center Township Armed Robbery Suspect

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in an armed robbery in Center Township. Investigators said the suspect walked into the Marathon Gas Station on Broadhead Road just after 7 p.m. on Oct. 25. Surveillance video shows the suspect approach the counter with an item to purchase, then grabbing cash after the clerk opens the register. Once the suspect has the cash, the video shows the suspect turn to leave but returned to the register to grab the item he brought to the counter. He then ran out the front door. Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect in the video is asked to contact Center Township Police at 724-774-3329.
