It was cool, but not freezing; a perfect night to kick off the holiday season. And the citizens of Beaver and surrounding areas did just that with the annual Light Up Night on Third Street. Beaver Light Up Night was coordinated by The Beaver Area Chamber Of Commerce.
While Pat Septak and Matt Drzik were busy on the prize wheel, the night air was filled with the sights and sounds of the Christmas joy that brought out hundreds of people to the County Seat town of Beaver.
A stunning line up of local performers entertained at the main stage in town, including Rudy Zetz and Voices, Jamie Laughlin, Rick Gilbert, Valentina Cherrico and The Maybrayz among others. NASCAR radio announcer Mike Lysakowski served as Master Of Ceremonies again this year. Beaver County Radio recorded the concert again this year and will be playing back selections throughout the holiday season and during “Christmas Music ‘Round The Clock” December 24-26, 2017.
Here is a recording of “White Christmas” as performed by Rudy Zetz, Janet Falotico, Jamie Laughlin and Sharon Gray at Friday night’s event in Beaver:

The Pittsburgh Penquins took on the Boston Bruins on Friday November 24,2017 in a special Thanksgiving matinee game from Boston. The Pens fought back in the second period after being dominated in the first period tying the score at 3 going into the intermission. The Pens then gave up an early third period goal and trailed the Bruins throughout the majority of the period. The Pens put the pressure on late in the period pulling goal tender Matt Murray with a minute left but the Pens just couldn’t put the puck in the net to tie the game falling by the final score of 4-3. Pens goals were scored by Guentzel, Kessel and Crosby.
