Backpacks Not Allowed At Moon Area Middle School Today
A spokesperson for The Moon Area School District said backpacks will not be allowed at the Moon Area Middle School today. The decision was made as a precaution following a threat that was deemed non-credible. The spokesperson said the district is working closely with police and they take any threat seriously. There will also be an enhanced police presence at the school today.
Tractor-Trailer Fire Leads To Restrictions On Turnpike In North Sewickley Twp
Fire crews and other emergency responders were on the scene of a tractor-trailer fire on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early this morning.The fire broke out in the westbound lanes near the 17.1 mile-marker in North Sewickley Township. No injuries were reported. There were restrictions in the right lane while crews worked to clean up the scene.
Pittsburgh Police Beefing Up Security In Wake Of Shootings In New Zealand
The Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety says there will be increased patrols at local mosques in response to the shootings in New Zealand. The shootings happened in Christchurch, New Zealand today. At least 49 people were killed and more were injured. One person has been arrested and charged with murder.

Entering the third period leading 3-0 the Penguins added two more to win 5-0. The fourth goal was scored by Nick Bjugstad .It was his 11th of the season unassited at 10:07.The fifth and final goal came off the stick Jake Guentzel. He deflected a shot by Zach Troutman. It was Guentzel’s 36th goal and the Penguins third power play goal of the game. the second assist to Nick Bjugstad. The Penguins were three for four with the man advantage. They out shot the Sabers 28-26. Goaltender Casey DeSmith earned his third shut out. DeSmith earned the games First Star. The Second Star was Phil Kessel and the Third Star was Captain Sidney Crosby. The Penguins host the St Louis Blues Saturday afternoon at 1pm at PPG Arena.
