Pennsylvania’s top elections officials is warning that failing to replace voting machines by 2020 could put the state in the position of being the only one without a voter-verifiable paper trail. Kathy Boockvar, Pennsylvania’s acting state secretary, also told senators Wednesday during an Appropriations Committee hearing that election-security experts agree that moving to voting machines that allow voters to double-check how their vote was recorded needs to happen by next year.

Midland Mother Hides With 8-Month-Old In Bathroom While Home Is Ransacked
A mother was forced to hide in her upstairs bathroom with her 8-month-old when someone broke into her Midland home. The woman, who is not being identified for safety reasons, told police that her home had been ransacked. Police say the burglary that happened Tuesday is not the only thing that’s been on their radar in the Midland area. They say at night, people have been going into unlocked cars and stealing items.
