Charges have been dismissed against a Beaver Falls woman for child endangerment. According to police, 29-year old Melissa Heffner was accused of leaving marijuana in a child’s backpack back in January. The alleged incident took place at the Beaver Falls Central Elementary School. Heffner’s attorney, Stephen Colafella, argued there wasn’t enough evidence to connect Heffner as the source of the marijuana, which was found loose at the bottom of the child’s backpack. The District Attorney’s office dismissed the charges prior to a preliminary hearing.
