The first segment was ladies go first as Crystal McFadden, Pittsburgh Program Manager for Corporate America Supports You talked with Jim about The non-profit CASY and  how  they help transitioning service members, under and un-employed veterans, guard and reserve members, to include their spouses find meaningful employment matches at livable wage opportunities through no-cost career readiness services and gap skills training. Crystal told Mr. Roddey that CASY’s primary clients are transitioning Veterans and Veteran’s who were prior military. Biden Not Apologizing for Remarks on Segregationist Senators

UNDATED (AP) — Joe Biden says his comments about working successfully with segregationist senators in the past were meant to argue that leaders sometimes have to work with people they disagree with to get things done. Several Democratic presidential rivals have criticized him over the remarks. Kamala Harris says the former vice president is “coddling” segregationists in a way that she believes suggests he doesn’t understand the nation’s history. Biden points to his record on civil rights in his defense.

Boy Scouts Plan To Use Cartoon-Style Videos To Teach Kids How To Recognize Sex Abuse

NEW YORK (AP) — The Boy Scouts are seeking to bolster their sex abuse-prevention efforts with a new awareness program featuring cartoon-style videos. The videos will be provided to more than 1.2 million Cub Scouts across the U.S. The aim is to teach children how to recognize abusive behavior and what to do if confronted by it. The initiative comes as the Boy Scouts face a potentially huge wave of abuse-related lawsuits. Given the financial threat, the Boy Scouts have not ruled out seeking bankruptcy protection.

Poll: Most Americans Aren’t Keen on Returning to Moon or Going To Mars

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Americans prefer a space program that focuses on tracking potential asteroid threats to Earth. That’s according to a poll released Thursday by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, one month before the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The results come as the White House pushes to return astronauts to the moon. But only about a quarter of Americans said exploration of the moon or Mars by astronauts should be among the country’s highest priorities.

House, Senate Leaders to Meet with Trump on Iran

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House is inviting House and Senate leaders for a briefing with President Donald Trump this afternoon to discuss tensions with Iran. In addition to House and Senate leaders of both parties, the White House extended the invitation to the top Democrats and Republicans on the House and Senate intelligence and Armed Services committees. The briefing comes after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard shot down a U.S. surveillance drone.

Domino’s To Start Delivering Pizzas Via Autonomous Robot This Fall

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — The human delivery driver may soon become a relic of the past. Domino’s plans to start delivering pizzas via an autonomous robot in Houston. The world’s biggest pizza company is teaming up with robotics company Nuro. How will this high tech pizza delivery service work? Well, once Domino’s customers in Houston place their order, they can track their driverless vehicle via the Domino’s app. Once the vehicle arrives at the delivery location, customers will be able to use a PIN code provided by Domino’s to unlock the vehicle’s compartment and retrieve their pizza. Nuro has already been using electric self-driving vehicles to deliver groceries to Kroger customers in Phoenix and Houston. These vehicles, by the way, have half the width and half the weight of a typical car…lack seats, steering wheels or room for human occupants…and can reach 25 miles per hour on major roadways.

10 Bills Designed To Help State’s Farm Industry Now Hands In PA Senate

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A package of agriculture-related legislation is in the hands of the Pennsylvania Senate after recent passage in the state House. The proposals that range from grants to help butchers comply with federal inspection requirements to new efforts to combat spotted lanternfly infestation. The House this week voted overwhelmingly for 10 bills designed to boost the state’s large farm industry.

Shooting Spree Outside Allentown Nightclub Leaves 10 People Wounded

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a street shooting in eastern Pennsylvania that left 10 people wounded is likely to be gang-related. The shooting outside the Deja Vu nightclub in Allentown occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday. Authorities say most of the victims had just left the nightclub and were standing on the sidewalk outside when the shots were fired. Police and prosecutors say it appears there were three shooters. No arrests have been made. Authorities say all of the wounded are expected to recover.
