By JOE KAY AP Sports Writer
Yet another dismal season of professional football in Ohio wraps up within the state’s borders — a most appropriate finish for two franchise with more big questions down the road. The Browns and Bengals get together at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday in what will likely be a final “Battle of Ohio” for some of the main participants. The Browns regressed in Freddie Kitchens’ first season as head coach, leading to questions about whether he’ll return. It will be Andy Dalton’s last start as the Bengals’ franchise quarterback. The one-win Bengals are expected to take a quarterback in the draft.

The Baltimore Ravens have already wrapped up the top seed in the AFC playoffs. So they’ll be resting several key players Sunday in a game the Pittsburgh Steelers desperately need to win to keep their postseason hopes alive. Though the Steelers can still qualify with a loss their best shot at making the playoffs is if they beat Baltimore and Tennessee loses to Houston. Robert Griffin III will start at quarterback for the Ravens in place of Lamar Jackson, the catalyst of the highest-scoring team in the NFL.

Online Sales Make Up a Larger Portion of Overall Sales Again

NEW YORK (AP) — More people did their shopping online this year in one of the shortest holiday shopping seasons in years and that pushed overall sales higher. Early data from Mastercard SpendingPulse shows that retail sales in the US rose 3.4% between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24 compared with last year. However, that’s slower growth than in the previous year, when sales grew 5.1%. Online sales rose at a faster pace, up 18.8% from last year.

New Mexico Police Investigate Killing of 4 on Christmas Day

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (AP) — Police in New Mexico are investigating the shooting of four people who were found dead on Christmas Day in a home in an Albuquerque suburb. Police in Rio Rancho have not identified the dead. They didn’t say whether they have a suspect or suspects, but issued a statement that they did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the public. A woman told KRQE-TV she’s related to the people who lived in the home, and her mother and brother found the bodies. They went to the home because they were concerned that they had not heard from the family.
