Update: Victim Identified in Sunday Big Beaver Fire/ Homicide. Cause of Death: Gun Shots

(Beaver,Pa.) Beaver County Coroner David J. Gabauer released the identity of the  fire/muder victim from Sunday morning’s Fi. The coroner said Rolando Contreras, 26   died from penetrating gun shot wounds to the head, trunk, and pelvis.   The  death has been ruled a homicide.
The City of Beaver Falls Police Department is reporting via press release that at 6:07 AM Sunday morning, March 14, 2021, the Big Beaver Volunteer Fire Department and the City of Beaver Falls Fire Department were called to the 1200 block of Shenango Road in Big Beaver Borough for a possible structural fire. First responders did locate a fire at 1095 Shenango Road. While firefighters were battling the fire they found a 26-year-old male who was deceased in the residence.

(Big Beaver, Pa.) The City of Beaver Falls Police Department is reporting via press release that at 6:07 AM Sunday morning, March 14, 2021, the Big Beaver Volunteer Fire Department and the City of Beaver Falls Fire Department were called to the 1200 block of Shenango Road in Big Beaver Borough for a possible structural fire. First responders did locate a fire at 1095 Shenango Road.

While firefighters were battling the fire they found a 26-year-old male who was deceased in the residence. No information is being released at this time as too the victims identity pending notification of the next of kin.

Beaver Falls Police Chief David Johnson said in the statement that the incident is being investigated as a homicide.  Police are asking anyone with information to the incident or anyone who may have been a witness to activity at 1095 Shenango Road between the hours of 3 AM and 6 AM to contact the City of Beaver Falls Police Department or the Beaver County Detectives Bureau at 724-846-7000 or 724-775-0880.

It’s not clear if the Be On the Look Out Bulletin issued by Pennsylvania State Police early Sunday morning for a 2014 grayish green Chevy pick-up tuck with Texas registration that is wanted for an incident in Big Beaver Borough has anything to do with the fire.  The Bulletin says to that there are two people in the vehicle and they should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees this vehicle is asked to call 911 or local police.

OLSH Defeats Greensburg

 

In the first quarter Our Lady of the Sacred Heart was looking strong but Greensburg was battling through it with the score after one Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 16 Greensburg 11. The second quarter was huge back and fouth battle between The Chargers and The Centurions But the score at the half The Chargers 33 The Centurions 26. The third quarter started off With Our Lady of the Sacred Heart on a hot streak over Greensburg scoring mostly three pointers the score after three Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 52 Greensburg 37. In the final quarter of the game Greensburg tried to mount a comeback but it wasn’t enough with Our Lady of the Sacred Heart consistently scoring, The final score of the game Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers 71 Greensburg Centurions 52.

Bishop Canevin beats Rochester for WPIAL title!

 

 

 

The Bishop Canevin Crusaders defeated the Rochester Rams 42-27 for the WPIAL Championship. The game started rocky as both teams were having trouble scoring in the first half. The Rams took a 10-9 lead going into the half, but the second half was all Bishop Canevin. The Crusaders jumped out on 6-0 run to start the third quarter, and they did not surrender the lead the rest of the game. Despite the efforts by Rochester it was still not enough to overcome the deficit. Bishop Canevin moves on the PIAA State playoffs that take place nest weekend.
