(Enon Valley, Pa.) Pa State Police in Butler are reporting that a 44-year-old Enon Valley man reported that someone stole his identity and bank information and made multiple fraudulent purchases totaling $1090.90. Troopers said via release that thye advised him to contact his bank and dispute the fraudulent purchases so that they can refund his money.
In the meantime Troopers are investigating the incident.

Aliquippa Couple Charged In Domestic Incident In Independence Township

(Independence Twp, Beaver County, Pa.) Pa State Police in Beaver are reporting that they responded to the scene of an active domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend on Ridge Road in Independence Twp. on Friday March 11, 2022 at 6:06 AM.
Upon arriving on the scene and investigating it was determined that both 24-year-old Blake Miller and 28-year-old Hannah Vance both of Aliquippa were responsible by their actions and both were charged with Harassment with physical contact. No other information about the incident was released by police.

Man Found Dead in McKees Rocks Sunday Morning
(McKees Rocks, Pa.) Allegheny County Police are reporting that they were notified around 6:30 AM on Sunday morning of a body that was found in the 300 block of Derby Alley in McKees Rocks. When officers arrived they found A man who was was shot. He was pronounced dead on the scene as homicide detectives are investigating

Acclaimed Filmmaker Brent Renaud Shot, Killed in Ukraine

American journalist Brent Renaud has been killed in Ukraine while gathering material for a report about refugees. Ukraine’s Interior Ministry says the 50-year-old documentary filmmaker died Sunday in Irpin, a Kyiv suburb that has been the site of intense shelling by Russian forces in recent days. Another journalist was wounded in the attack. Renaud won a litany of prestigious awards for documentary filmmaking including two duPont-Columbia journalism awards. With his brother Craig, Renaud produced programs for number of American news and media organizations, including HBO and The New York Times. They won a Peabody for “Last Chance High,” a series about at-risk youth in Chicago.
Pennsylvania Payrolls, Labor Force Grew in January

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania’s payrolls grew in January, the unemployment rate crept down and the labor force expanded after more than a year of contraction. That’s according to figures released Friday. Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate dropped a tenth of a point to 5.4%. The national rate was 4%. In a survey of households, the labor force grew for just the second month since September 2020. The state labor force hit a record high just before the COVID-19 pandemic and remains below 2011 levels. In a separate survey of employers, non-farm payrolls grew to their highest point since before the pandemic. Pennsylvania has regained almost 80% of the jobs lost in the pandemic.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Brian Boyle, Danton Heinen and Zach Aston-Reese scored to take some of the pressure off Sidney Crosby, Tristan Jarry stopped 41 shots and the Pittsburgh Penguins edged the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2. Crosby scored an empty-netter to reach the 20-goal plateau for the 14th time as the Penguins beat the Metropolitan Division-leading Hurricanes for the first time in three tries. Brett Pesce scored his fifth of the season and Sebastian Aho added his 27th but Carolina lost in regulation for just the second time in its last 12 games.

Freedom Girls defeat Greenville 56-28!
Freedom kicked this game off scoring points early and gaining a lead. Greenville struggled to keep up with the Lady Bulldogs and trailed at the half 25-8. Freedom kept their momentum in the second half while Greenville also managed to get more points on the board. The mercy rule was kicked in late in the half and the Freedom Lady Bulldogs finished things off with a 56-28 win to move on to the next round of PIAA playoffs.
