Rosslyn Road Bridge Inspection This Weekend in Rosslyn Farms

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing bridge inspection work on the structure that carries Rosslyn Road over I-376 (Parkway West) in Rosslyn Farms Borough, Allegheny County, will occur Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18 weather permitting.

Bridge inspection work will occur from 6 a.m. to noon each day requiring a lane restriction on I-376 (Parkway West) according to the following schedule:

  • Saturday, September 17 – Eastbound (inbound)
  • Sunday, September 18 – Westbound (outbound)

Crews from Mackin Engineering and the Sofis Rigging Company will conduct the inspection work.

To help keep motorists informed as work progresses, PennDOT has created an email distribution list for I-376 Parkway West traffic advisories and construction updates. Enroll by sending email addresses to stcowan@pa.gov. Please write “Subscribe – Parkway West” in the subject line.

Motorists are advised to use caution. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.

Jeff Bost  is a consultant to the St. Barnabas Health System. Bost is also a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Neurosurgery at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a consultant to the WWE, and Clinical Assistant Professor at Chatham University. He has a special interest in minimally invasive spine and brain surgery and have collaborated on scores of scientific medical papers and books in these areas. Over the last 15 years he has researched, lectured and written on the use of alternative treatment for pain control.

Bost, along with Dr. Joseph Maroon have authored two books on the use of omega-3 fish oil, including: Fish Oil: The Natural Anti-Inflammatory, currently in its forth printing with over 75,000 copies sold and recently, Why You Need Fish Oil. He has given over 100 invited lectures, 24 national posters and oral presentations, 29 coordinated research projects, five workshops presentations, 35 scientific articles and 10 book chapters.

Ambridge School Board approves secretary’s retirement , hires new teachers

(Ambridge, Pa.) Ambridge School Board met and approved high school attendance secretary Amy Sipes’s retirement at Wednesday night. Ambridge Middle School English Teacher Brenna Wandel resigned, and Jessica Seerbo resigned from Highland Elementary School.

Brandie  Johnson was hired to teach sixth grade at the middle school. Her salary was set at $48,971. Gloria Correa was hired to teach high school Spanish. Her salary will be $47,861.

Central Valley School District Approves Emergency Plan, Hears Construction Update

(Center, Twp., Beaver County, Pa.) The Central Valley School Board approved their Emergency & Disaster Operations Plan that includes all the schools, BVIU, CCBC and BCCTC, the police departments , fire departments and first responders and municipal complexes in the district.

An update on the construction at Center Grange Primary School was presented. Principal Karla Kosanovich commented that her students  are excited  to see all the construction equipment on site. A portion of the Todd Lane Elementary School  roof is under warranty and will be replaced  next week.
Natalie Condo, middle school science teacher and girls high school head basketball coach resigned both positions. Chris Wagner was hired as the new girls basketball coach. Middle school basketball coach is Marcus Brown . New high school baseball coach is Jim Bruzdewicz.

Drug Free Aliquippa Hosting A BBQ Bash

(Aliquippa, Pa.) Aliquippa Elementary school’s field is the site chosen for the Drug Free Aliquippa’s Coalition Back to School BBQ Bash. The event will be held on Thursday September 29, 2022 at 5PM.  THE EVENT IS  A FREE FAMILY EVENT FEATURING KICKBALL, PRIZES, AND FREEBIES.  THE DRUG FREE COALITION  IS FUNDED BY A FEDERAL GRANT. AND THE EVENT IS JOINTLY SPONSORED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY. .
