Hiura, Urías Get Key hits as Brewers beat Pirates 6-1

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Keston Hiura and Luis Urías each hit an RBI single during Milwaukee’s four-run seventh inning, and the Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-1. Willy Adames had a run-scoring double as Milwaukee won for the fourth time in five games. Freddy Peralta pitched five effective innings, and Taylor Rogers got four outs for the win. Ben Gamel homered for last-place Pittsburgh, which had won two of three. Kevin Newman had two of the Pirates’ five hits.

Lynda Lambert Speaks About AAA’s “School’s Open–Drive Carefully” Campaign On A.M. Beaver County

With August ending and the school year beginning, not only are the students returning to the classrooms–but the signals in the school zones to slow down are returning too.

Focusing on the activity in those school zones is one of the major focal points of AAA’s “School’s Open–Drive Carefully” campaign, which has been operating since 1946. AAA East Central safety advisor Lynda Lambert joined Matt Drzik on the August 31 edition of A.M. Beaver County to discuss the do’s and don’ts of driving within a school zone–from the basic elements of paying attention to the road to the modern struggles with phone technology.

Butler County Pair Arrested on Animal Cruelty and Endangering Children Charges,13 Animals Seized From Filthy Home

(Summit Township, Butler County, Pa.) Pa State Police in Butler are reporting that they have filed charges of Animal Cruelty and Endangering the Welfare of a child against a Summit Township, Butler County Couple after State Police along with two officers from the Beaver County Humane Society and the ANNA Shelter in Erie, Pa. served a search warrant at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at a residence on Saxonburg Road in Summit Township for ongoing animal cruelty.
State Police are reporting that 10 German Shepherd Dogs and 3 cats were seized from the residence of 48-year-old Regina Pruitt and 55-year-old Robert Pruitt. Troopers said that the conditions were so deplorable that they had to wear hazmat suits and breathing apparatuses to conduct the search. It was determined the animals were in poor health. the animals were covered with feces, mites, fleas, and lice.
Butler County CYS was contacted and went to the scene and determined that the house was unlivable. The Summit Township Zoning Officer was contacted and traveled to the scene and immediately condemned the residence due to the terrible conditions.
Both Regina and Robert were placed into State Police custody  and was arraigned before Magistrate Lewis Stoughton on all related animal cruelty and Endangering the Welfare of a Child Charges.

Shell To Hold Virtual Community Meeting Concerning Path to Startup of Operations

(Potter Twp., Pa.) The Shell Cracker Plant in Potter Twp., Beaver County is just about complete and the company is holding a virtual community meeting next Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 6-7PM.

Shell will have members of the leadership team that will be sharing updates in the path to startup of operations at the plant.

Pa State Police Looking For Help in Butler County Residential Burglary

(Oakland Twp., Butler County, Pa.) Pa State Police in Butler are reporting that they were dispatched to a location on Thorn Run Road in Oakland Twp., Butler County for a reported residential burglary.
Troopers said via release upon arriving and investigating it was determined that the actor or actors forcefully gained access to the residence through a side door. Troopers said once the actor or actors were in the residence they ransacked it and stole several items. They also entered a garage and shed on the property. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at the Butler Barracks at 724-284-8100.

Fetterman Says He Won’t Debate Dr. Oz

(Harrisburg, Pa.) Pennsylvania’s Democratic Nominee for US Senate John Fetterman responded to Republican Nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz’s request for a debate by saying that he won’t participate in an early-September debate.
Fetterman cites his ongoing recovery from a recent stroke
The Hill reports Fetterman called out Oz’s campaign for mocking several ‘concessions’ that would be made if Fetterman agreed to debate with Oz.
Fetterman blasted Oz, accusing him of making it “abundantly clear that they think it is funny to mock a stroke survivor.”
Oz’s campaign responded by saying “John Fetterman is a liar, a liberal, and a coward.”

PennDOT Driver License, Photo Centers Closed for Labor Day Holiday

(Harrisburg, PA )The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that all driver license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed Saturday, September 3, through Monday, September 5, 2022, in observance of Labor Day.

Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals, online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website, www.dmv.pa.gov.

Driver and vehicle online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include driver’s license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals; driver-history services; changes of address; driver license and vehicle registration restoration letters; ability to pay driver license or vehicle insurance restoration fee; driver license and photo ID duplicates; and driver exam scheduling. There are no additional fees for using online services.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
