24.36% Voter Turnout in Beaver County For Tuesday’s Primary

(Beaver County, Pa With Yesterday being the primary election in Beaver County 24.36% of the registered voters in the county cast a ballot.
With all precincts reporting a total of 27,395 ballots were cast of the 112, 464 registered voters in the county.
21.84% of registered Democratic voters showed up and 34.91% of registered Republicans cast a vote in Beaver County.

The board of elections  began counting  absentee ballots at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.  The total of write-ins for the primary hasn’t been counted, but 298 ballots came in Tuesday’s mail , according to a spokesperson from the Board of Elections.

Lt. Governor John Fetterman Successfully Undergoes Procedure to Install Pace Maker

(Braddock Pa.) In a Statement that was release by Joe Calvello, Director of Communications for Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman that was received by beaver County Radio Last night we found out that
“John Fetterman has completed a successful procedure to implant a pacemaker with a defibrillator. The procedure began at 3:15pm yesterday. He has been given the all-clear that it was successful. He is resting at the hospital and recovering well. John continues to improve every day, and he is still on track for a full recovery.”

 Doug Mastriano Has Won the Republican Nomination for Governor of Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Doug Mastriano has won the Republican nomination for governor of Pennsylvania. Mastriano beat eight other candidates in Tuesday’s primary election and a party establishment that had tried to head off his coming victory over fears that he is too extreme to win fall’s general election in the presidential battleground. Mastriano, a retired U.S. Army colonel and state senator since 2019 who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, will face Democrat Josh Shapiro in the November election. Mastriano and Shapiro are vying for the right to succeed Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf, who is constitutionally term-limited Mastriano was well on his way to victory when Trump endorsed him on Saturday.

Fetterman Having Pacemaker Installed

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman is about to undergo a standard procedure to implant a pacemaker with a defibrillator according to his campaign. They statement said that It should be a short procedure that will help protect his heart and address the underlying cause of his stroke, atrial fibrillation (A-fib), by regulating his heart rate and rhythm.”

Beaver Falls mayor Kenya Johns sat down with Matt Drzik on the May 17 edition of A.M. Beaver County to talk about the upcoming summer in the city, with several major events taking place over the next six weeks. She also discussed the purpose of accountability and the key elements for the city to evolve over the next several weeks.

Those events include the Memorial Day Parade on May 30, the Beaver Falls Car Cruise on June 11, and the city’s first organized Juneteenth celebration. “We’re really excited about that,” Johns said. “We don’t want it to be focused on just the city of Beaver Falls…we want to invite our neighbors to celebrate with us, because Juneteenth is such a historic day.”

Center Township Solicitor Resigns, Interim Solicitor Named

(Center Twp., Beaver County, Pa.) Center Township Supervisors  announced at Monday night’s meeting that Nicholas Urick, their solicitor has resigned. They approved the resignation and named  Vincent A. Tucceri, a partner in GTN Law  from Pittsburgh interim solicitor.

The Center Grange Primary School Land Development Plan  as recommended by the planning commission on May 5, 2022.
Added costs of $348,032.20 were approved for the 2022 road improvement program. based on the township engineer’s recommendation..

Coroner Called to the Scene of Head On Crash Involving a Semi and Car in Ohioville

(Ohioville, Pa.) Ohioville police and firefighters were still on the scene of a fatal head on accident involving a semi truck and car shortly after 12 noon on Tuesday. The accident occurred on Midland Road shortly after at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

9-1-1 dispatch confirmed that one lane of the road was opened back up shortly after 12:15 PM.  Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer’s office was called to the scene. No other info is available at this time.
