It’s beginning to look a lot like…well, you know.
The holiday season is already being celebrated by many, but the full-swing embrace to Christmas comes this weekend following Thanksgiving. A major part of that in Beaver County will be the 2nd Annual Beaver Falls Winterfest taking place beginning at 2 PM at the parklet by the Carnegie Free Library, culminating with the lighted holiday parade set to kick off at 6 PM. Winterfest is presented by the Beaver Falls Business District Authority in conjunction with the City of Beaver Falls.
Winterfest Committee members Paula Durish, Nancy Valentine-Jones, and Chris Kosanovich joined Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County to discuss the changes and updates from last year’s inaugural event, as there will be a DJ playing music and fun/games for the kids provided by the Big Beaver Falls Area School District. There will also be food trucks and open greetings by the downtown businesses throughout the afternoon and evening along 7th Avenue. Plus Beaver County Radio, as is tradition, will broadcast the lighted holiday parade as it sleds its way down through Tigertown.
If you have questions or inquiries about Winterfest or the Parade, contact the Winterfest committee at bfchristmascommittee@gmail.com or contact Paula Durish at the Beaver Falls City Building at (724) 847-2800 ext. 215.
