Beaver County Amateur Astronomers Discuss Upcoming Solar Eclipse, Emphasizing Safety

There is going to be a solar eclipse that will be in sight for the United States on August 21, and it is set to last for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Questions have arisen as to if it’s possible for anyone to look at it, as well as safety issues for pets.

Curt DiGiovine and Michael Colalella from the Beaver County Amateur Astronomers answered those questions and more in an August 18 interview with Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County. They discussed the proper materials and preparation to view the eclipse, the irreversible damage that may occur if one does not prepare properly, and what to expect visually; among other details.
