Aliquippa Council addresses street closure near the high school during council meeting

(Aliquippa, Pa.) The closure of the 1000  block of  Main Street in the city due to a pickup slamming into 2  structures  causing major damage.  Code and zoning officer Jim Bologna  said contact has been made with the owners/managers insurance company He said the road is closed for the  health and safety of residents, even though some are unhappy with the city’s decision. Bologna said the process is taking too long to get the situation resolved. Solicitor Myron R. Sainovich will be contacted to see  what action can be taken.. The residents affected  are staying  in local hotels

Cook Brothers was approved to tear down  a home on Davis Street for $4,500.   City engineer Ron Rizzo reported 2 homes 670 and 704 Franklin Avenue are in the process of being torn down this week.
