Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh Asking State Supreme Court for Extraordinary Relief in Petition

The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh is asking the state Supreme Court for extraordinary relief in a petition following a series of lawsuits alleging clergy sexual abuse over the past six months. Last week, the diocese listed four lawsuits they claim require relief from the court. In the filing, the diocese said courts will be inundated with uniform cases with millions of dollars spent pursuing and defending claims the Supreme Court could eventually deem invalid.
