Dems Hoping Young Black Voters Will Turn Out for Next Year’s Presidential Election

DETROIT (AP) — Democrats are hoping young black voters will turn out for next year’s presidential election despite not having the energizing presence of Barack Obama at the top of the ticket. Democrats will be watching the 2020 campaign to see if they can match the potent multiracial coalition Obama put together in his presidential election wins. There’s likely to be a similar coalition, but the big question is whether it will have the intensity and numbers of the Obama elections in 2008 and 2012.
