(Cranberry Township, PA) After almost two years of feasibility studies and public outreach, as well as a recommendation from an advisory committee, Cranberry Township is ready to go to next steps for a planned community engagement center.

Two contracts will be up for a vote at Cranberry Township’s board of supervisors meeting on Thursday, November 5th.

A successful vote on that date will continue to advance work on this recreation center, which is planned for a 10-acre property at the intersection of Rochester Road and Thompson Park Drive.

The board will be asked to consider the approval of a design development contract to Designstream LLC.

According to Cranberry township manager Dan Santoro, that contract is worth $1,339,356.

The second contract is for Sports Facilities Companies, which is a company that develops, funds and plans, recreation facilities across the United States.

Santoro confirms that this contract is for consultation about operating the planned community center, as well as the finances of building that facility.

Cranberry Township assistant township manager Kyle Beidler noted that the facility will have 20,000 square feet of turf and four basketball courts, which can also be used as up to eight volleyball courts.
