(Allegheny County, PA) Members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 29 voted yesterday to ratify their contract with Duquesne Light Company (DLC).

This comes after almost 1,000 DLC workers who serve customers in Allegheny and Beaver counties went on strike on October 1st following failed contract negotiations with their employer.

DLC and IBEW Local 29 reached a tentative agreement on a five-year contract on Thursday.

IBEW Local 29 acknowledged the results of the vote in a post on social media and confirmed: “A huge thank you to everyone that supported us and all of our members for standing with us.”

According to the union, 526 members voted to accept the contract, while 184 voted to reject it.
