(Pittsburgh, PA) United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced today that a resident of Valencia, in Butler County, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of receiving a firearm and ammunition, knowing or
having reasonable cause to believe that the firearm and ammunition would be used to commit a felony or a Federal crime of terrorism, including providing, attempting to provide, and conspiring to provide material support or resources to a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO).
The one-count Indictment named twenty-one-year-old Jonathan Hunter Kramer as the sole defendant.
According to the Indictment, on or about September 12th, 2026, in the Western District of Pennsylvania, Kramer knowingly received a semiautomatic rifle, .223 caliber ammunition, and 5.56 caliber ammunition, knowing and having reasonable cause to believe that the firearm and ammunition would be used to commit a felony or a Federal crime of terrorism, including providing, attempting to provide and conspiring to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a designated FTO.
As alleged in the affidavit that was filed in support of the complaint, Kramer had been using the online persona of “Hamza Al Rashid” who claimed affiliation with ISIS, as well as offering to share explosive manuals with others, and just a few days before September 12th, expressing his intent to prepare for his “mission” and that he was only missing a “weapon.”
Kramer could face a maximum total sentence of up to 15 years in jail, a fine of up to $250,000, or both, provided by the law.
