(Aliquippa, PA) A male teenager died from his injuries after he crashed his motorcycle in Beaver County last week.

Aliquippa Police issued a Facebook post on Friday that they were dispatched on Wednesday to PA Route 51 Northbound near Station Street for a reported motorcycle crash.

Officers found a motorcycle and crash debris in the roadway and a utility pole that had been sheared as a result of a collision when they arrived.

The operator of the motorcycle was identified as a 19-year-old man and he had succumbed to his injuries.

A witness confirmed in a preliminary investigation that during the crash, they observed the motorcycle going northbound on PA Route 51 at a rate of speed that was high.

The witness also stated that the motorcycle appeared to become unstable, with the front of the motorcycle oscillating from side to side before the operator lost control, left the road and hit a utility pole.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of PA Route 51 were closed temporarily while officers processed and secured the crash scene.

Anyone who has information about this crash or observed the motorcycle before the crash occurred can call the Aliquippa Police Department at 724-378-8000.
