(Aliquippa, PA) Thirty-year-old Matthew Craig of Monaca turned himself in to police on Friday and he is no longer wanted on an active arrest warrant that was connected to an assault, specifically an incident of domestic violence, that occurred on Thursday on Spring Street in Aliquippa.  

An investigation alleges that during an altercation, Craig struck a female victim in the face with a metal paint roller, which caused a severe laceration above her eye that required medical attention.   

Craig continued to contact and harass the victim after the incident after knowing that police had been contacted.    

He was initially wanted on charges including Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Intimidation of Witnesses or Victims, Simple Assault and Terroristic Threats.   

Officers tried to locate Craig at his residence and they made several attempts to contact him by telephone.   

He did answer a telephone call from an officer.   

However, he did not initially turn himself in or report to the police department to speak with officers when he was requested.
