(Beaver County, PA) PennDOT District 11 is advising drivers to use caution if they are traveling in Beaver, Allegheny and Lawrence counties. 

This comes after storms went across Western Pennsylvania yesterday. 

PennDOT’s warnings to drive safe were due to reports of flooding, debris covered roads, and downed trees.  

Crews will work on clean-up operations and will assess damages. 

According to PennDOT, they are reminding drivers to: 

• Reduce speed and remain alert for debris on the roadway. 

• Avoid driving through areas where trees, limbs, or wires are down. 

• Allow extra time for travel. 

• Never approach or drive over downed utility lines. 

• Do not drive across roads covered with water because even shallow, swiftly flowing water can wash a car from a roadway. Also, the roadbed may not be intact under the water. 

• Never drive around barricades or signs on closed roads – Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
