(Pittsburgh, PA) The U.S. Department of Transportation has agreed to award Pittsburgh International Airport just over $10.74 million for upgrades to the facility in Findlay Township.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the airport, which opened its new landside terminal in November of 2025, will receive a total of $10,741,043.

The Allegheny County Airport Authority confirms that the airport will use $5.5 million to reconstruct 700,000 square feet of the terminal which has reached the end of its useful life.

That grant will fund the final phase of the terminal project, which consists of construction of the north and south airside terraces.

The airport also will use $4 million to rehabilitate 4,300 feet of pavement that is in Taxiway B and 3,000 feet of pavement that is in Taxiway C to help maintain the structural integrity of that area and minimize foreign object debris to extend the useful lives of the taxiways.

The airport will also use $1.2 million to replace two existing electrical emergency generators which have reached the end of their useful lives.
