(Harrisburg, PA) The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) recently received 445 Autism Sensory Aid Bags from the Collaborative Autism Movement (CAM).

CAM partnered with Amazon to equip all Pennsylvania State Police stations with at least five sensory aid bags, which were created to better support individuals with autism and other sensory sensitivities.

Each sensory aid bag included fidget items, headphones, sunglasses, a non-verbal communication board, a timer, a weighted blanket, and a quick reference guide to using those items.

These items are designed to help encourage self-regulation, reduce anxiety and provide comfort during emergencies, non-emergencies, and interactions with law enforcement.

Emergency responders can now better serve people with autism and other sensory processing differences while fostering more positive and safer interactions by having these resources readily available.
