(Pittsburgh, PA) Amtrak is adding a second train to take riders from Pittsburgh to New York City.
Amtrak’s board of directors noted in a public meeting on July 29th that a second train will take Pittsburgh riders to New York City and points in between.
Officials stated that this ride is expected to be added later this year.
Crews spent the last few years upgrading tracks and stations along the route between Pittsburgh and New York City because of a partnership between PennDOT and Norfolk Southern.
Amtrak reported recently that it saw a record number of riders last year at a total of 34.5 million riders.
