(Butler, PA) “Corey’s Cruise” was held for the second straight year in Butler on Saturday to honor the life of Corey Comperatore, the man who was killed during the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump at a campaign rally for Trump in Butler on July 13th, 2024.

Twenty-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump in the ear at the time of the assassination attempt and Crooks was shot and killed by a counter sniper team from the Secret Service on that day. 

Comperatore was fifty years old and he was the only one that was killed from the gunfire during the incident.

The second annual event to honor the former fire chief happened at the Big Butler Fairgrounds.

More than 200 motorcyclists attended a ride which was followed by a car show to celebrate the heroic legacy of Comperatore, who saved his wife and two daughters from gunfire during the 2024 rally.
