(Pittsburgh, PA) The new owners of the Pittsburgh Penguins were introduced to the city of Pittsburgh yesterday. The Hoffmann Family of Companies bought the team from the Fenway Sports Group after National Hockey League board of governors unanimously approved the sale on Tuesday. This transaction is expected to close in the near future. Financial terms were not announced, but the deal is reportedly valued at about $1.7 billion. People got to meet the leaders of the company, father David Hoffmann and brothers Geoff and Greg Hoffmann. Geoff Hoffmann said in a news conference at PPG Paints Area that their purchase of the Penguins is “a commitment to an organization.”
