(Aliquippa, PA) At approximately 12:00 a.m. today, officers from the Aliquippa Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Linmar Terrace for reports of shots fired.
While officers responded, Beaver County 911 advised officers that additional callers reported that a person had been shot. Officers arrived and encountered a crowd and an active disturbance, and then secured the scene, de-escalated the situation, and detained thirty-six-year-old Nicole Rose of Monaca Borough, who was identified as a potential suspect. It was determined through an investigation that Rose discharged her firearm into the ground after a physical altercation. Charges are pending against her and she was subsequently taken into custody. There were no reported injuries. A man who was believed to be a possible victim was located and it was determined that he had not been shot or otherwise injured.
The Aliquippa Police Department requested that the Pennsylvania State Police Beaver Barracks assume the investigation due to the nature of the incident. They are continuing to investigate it. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call PSP Beaver at (724) 773-7400.
