SCHEDULE CHANGE: Interstate 79 Wexford Interchange Beam Deliveries and Placements this Week in Allegheny County

(Allegheny County, PA) PennDOT District 11 announced that beam deliveries and placements on Interstate 79 in Marshall Township and Franklin Park Borough are occurring this week, weather permitting.

Local and state police will control traffic at signalized intersections during these closures and detours, which can be found below:

The following restrictions are expected to occur for beam deliveries and placement work, according to the recently updated schedule listed below:

Monday, June 15

  • Southbound I-79 will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic between the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) off and on-ramps from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM to accommodate beam deliveries.
  • Southbound I-79 will be closed and detoured from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM at the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) interchange for beam placement work.
  • Northbound I-79 will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic between the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) off and on-ramps from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM to accommodate beam deliveries.

Tuesday, June 16

  • Southbound I-79 will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic between the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) off and on-ramps from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM to accommodate beam deliveries.
  • Southbound I-79 will be closed and detoured from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM at the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) interchange for beam placement work.
  • Northbound I-79 will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic between the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) off and on-ramps from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM to accommodate beam deliveries.

Wednesday, June 17

  • Southbound I-79 will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic between the off and on-ramps at the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) interchange from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM to accommodate crane pad work.

Friday, June 19

  • Northbound I-79 will be closed and detoured at the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) interchange from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM for beam placement work.

Southbound I-79

  • From southbound I-79, take the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) exit
  • Cross over Route 910/Wexford Bayne Road onto the on-ramp to southbound I-79
  • End detour

Northbound I-79

  • From northbound I-79, take the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) exit
  • Cross over Route 910/Wexford Bayne Road onto the on-ramp to northbound I-79
  • End detour

The traffic signal at the Route 910/Wexford Bayne intersection will give priority to I-79 travelers to accommodate traffic on the detour. Motorists that are on Route 910/Wexford Bayne Road can expect delays.
