(Pittsburgh, PA) Gas prices are 11 cents lower in Western Pennsylvania this week at about $4.41 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report. The national average for a gallon of regular gas has fallen for three straight weeks, which delivers some relief to drivers during the busy summer travel season. The national average has dropped from $4.56 to the current average of $4.06 since May 21st because of lower crude oil prices. Crude oil prices opened this morning at $80 per barrel after a deal was announced between the U.S. and Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Prices at the gas pump remain at four-year highs, but the national average is currently far from the record set of $5 per gallon that occurred on June 11th, 2022. If the national average does drop below $4 per gallon, it will be the first time that has happened since March 30th.

The report states that the average price that you can expect for a gallon of regular unleaded gas here in Beaver County is about $4.67.
