(Beaver County, PA) Summer weather means it’s time for ice cream, and local shops are serving up everything from classic vanilla and chocolate to creative seasonal flavors. According to the Beaver County Times, here is a short list of shops to visit to satisfy your sweet tooth:

• The newest opening this season really isn’t new to residents of Beaver County: After a year’s hiatus, Punks Ice Cream Shoppe reopened on April 18 at 898 State Street. in Baden. Their spring hours posted online are 3-9 p.m. Monday, 4:15 – 9 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 12-10 p.m. Saturday and 12-9 p.m. Sunday, but to make sure, check for the latest updates on their Facebook page by clicking here. Also, cash is only accepted for payment at this time.
• Barry’s Ice Cream, 105 W. Line Avenue, Ellwood City. 724-758-1111. Open from 12-9 p.m. daily, seven days a week except on Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day, when the shop is closed. Cash only. New weekly specials are announced each Wednesday on its Facebook page by clicking here.

• Blackbird Market, 601 Third Street, Beaver. 724-480-1224. Their spring hours are from 12-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday. Closed on Monday. Weekly specials are released on Fridays, which you can access by clicking here, and there are gluten-free and dairy-free options available.

• Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, 2291 Brodhead Road, Hopewell Township. 724-378-9958. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Serves premium ice cream made onsite daily, which you can find out about by clicking here, also Italian ice, sherbet, sorbet, fat-free no-sugar-added ice cream and dairy-free/vegan flavors made with oat milk.
• Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, 1515 Riverside Drive, Bridgewater. 724-774-4155. Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Serves premium ice cream made onsite daily, which you can find out about by clicking here, also Italian ice, sherbet, sorbet, fat-free no-sugar-added ice cream and dairy-free/vegan flavors made with oat milk.

• Hank’s Frozen Custard and Mexican Food, 2210 Third Avenue, New Brighton. 724-581-7003. Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m daily, serving soft-serve custard, slushees, Hawaiian shaved ice, sundaes, milkshakes and more. Online ordering available by clicking here.

• Ice Cream Therapy, 400 Merchant Street, Ambridge. 724-891-0157. Open 3:30-10 p.m. daily. Try their new flavor combinations, which you can find out about by clicking here, in a sundae or a Boston Shake, and their non-dairy dessert options like oat milk vanilla and raspberry and limoncello sorbet.

• Judy’s Jimmies, 822 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls. 724-987-0777. Open from 12-9 p.m. daily, serving hand-dipped Penn State Creamery ice cream, which you can find out about by clicking here, in a variety of flavors.

• Katie’s Korner, 801 Mercer Road, North Sewickley Township, or 600 Chippewa Town Center, Chippewa Township, 724-427-4539 (North Sewickley) or 724-427-4745 (Chippewa). Both locations serve super-premium ice cream, which you can find out about and order by clicking here, and are open from 12-10 p.m. daily. • Neff Haus Ice Cream, 550 Main Street, Harmony. 724-473-4840. Open 4-9 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 12-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Closed on Monday. Known especially for their trademarked Cloud dessert, which you can find out about by clicking here, with flavored toppings over vanilla soft serve ice cream.

• RJT’s Ice Cream, 631 Lincoln Highway (Route 30), Independence Township, close to Raccoon Creek State Park. No updated information is available.

• Hopewell Windmill, 2142 Brodhead Road, Hopewell Township. 724-375-5350. Open from 3-9 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Windmill has an 18-hole mini golf course, which you can find out more about by clicking here, and also serves hot food, ice cream, funnel cakes, slushies and more.

• Windy Ridge Dairy, 457 North Tower Road, Marion Township. 724-822-8777. Farm store is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Closed on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. This is a working dairy farm with a farm store, which you can find out about by clicking here, that sells milk, deli meats and cheeses and ice cream made in small batches, with flavors changing weekly.

• Witch Flavor?, 588 Third Street, Beaver. 724-775-2663. Open 12-9 p.m. daily. Ice cream and dessert shop serving 16 flavors daily.

• Young’s Custard Stand and Grill, 1973 Hartzel School Road, New Sewickley Township. Open 2-9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday-Sunday, closed on Tuesday. Ice cream is available now, grill area will open soon. Click here to find out more about it. Cards also accepted for payment now in addition to cash.
