(Shaler Township, PA) According to officials, a road has now reopened following a fire that broke out inside a Shaler Township home yesterday evening. This happened at around 5 p.m. on the 700 block of Wible Run Road, where multiple fire crews were seen assessing the exterior of the structure. Wible Run Road was closed between Wetzel Road as crews responded for nearly two hours. According to Berkeley Hills Fire Company Assistant Chief Kenneth Long, a passerby reported flames coming out of a side window. The two adults who live at the home were not inside at the time of the fire, but officials confirmed that two dogs and a bird were. Firefighters rescued the second dog, but the bird died. Ten fire departments responded to the scene and the Allegheny County Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
