Shooting in the Middle Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh leaves man hospitalized in crticial condition

(Pittsburgh, PA) The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s Violent Crime Unit is currently investigating a shooting that took place in the Middle Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh early on Saturday morning which left a man hospitalized in critical condition. According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, just before 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, officers were sent to the 600 block of Chauncey Street after receiving three separate ShotSpotter alerts for a total of a possible seventeen rounds fired. Officers found a vehicle that was damaged by gunshots and multiple shell casings once they arrived on the scene near the intersection of Chauncey Street and Webster Avenue. A man was also found shot in the torso and arm multiple times several blocks away near the intersection of Wylie Avenue and Junilla Street. Police believe that the man was returning to his vehicle when the shots were fired. Officers were able to render aid to him until medics arrived and he was then taken to the hospital in critical condition and was rushed into surgery upon arrival.
