(Washington, D.C.) According to a release from Congressman Chris Deluzio’s office, Deluzio (PA-17), a member of the House Armed Service Committee, introduced a bill today to require greater transparency when the Pentagon purchases products with massive price increases from defense contractors. The Defense In Pricing Transparency Act was introduced today and that introduction is the latest in the ongoing work of Deluzio to fight price gouging in the Department of Defense. The Defense In Pricing Transparency Act makes a requirement for contractors to report within thirty days to officers of contracting when product prices exceed or reach certain thresholds of price increase. Those who do not comply with this requirement will get annotated in the Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System.
