The body of a 30-year-old Lawrence County woman who had been missing for a month has been found, but the cause of her death remains unknown. Courtney Stone, of Stoner Drive in Portersville, was found in a field off of Fox Road in Slippery Rock Township on Monday at about 4 p.m. by someone walking his dog, according to state police in New Castle. State police said there is nothing overtly suspicious about Stone’s death. Police said she had been missing since Feb. 3 when she was last seen at a relative’s home in Slippery Rock Township. She had left the home, where she had been visiting, on foot at about 9:30 that night. Police described her as being “in a disoriented state.” Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Deputy Coroner James Farris. An autopsy was performed at Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver. The autopsy revealed nothing suspicious about the victim’s death; however, police say a cause and manner of death can’t be determined until toxicology tests are conducted.
