(Aliquippa, Pa) Lawrence Reddick, a 1991 Aliquippa High School graduate, is the new road department head, replacing Alex Scott who has taken a job at the Shell plant. Reddick said that he has been with the road department for 7 years.
The city approved the hiring of a part time police officer recently, Garrett Kimmell. Kimmell will also be a K-9 officer, according to Police Chief John Lane. Chief Lane told council that the police department is being assisted by PSP, Ambridge Police. District Superintendent Dr. Phillip Woods, and members of the school board, due to some incidents that have occurred at home football games, announced that anyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older at the field.
Assistant Fire Chief Tim Firich reported that the department is applying for 2 grants for the department’s equipment needs. He said the fire department is currently focusing on vehicle rescue training.
