(New Brighton, PA) New Brighton Police Chief Ron Walton reported on Thursday morning that Luis J. Rodriguez-Caban, 22, fought with officers at Valley View Apartments Wednesday evening. He attempted to escape from them, causing damage to the cruisers. One was damaged when he busted the divider in the cargo area. He went running and was apprehended at 11th Street and Fifth Avenue, Chief Walton said. Witnesses stated that Caban was handcuffed when he escaped. The scene in New Brighton was cleared shortly after 10pm Wednesday.
Beaver Valley Regional Police, the sheriff’s department, K-9’s assisted in Caban’s arrest. New Brighton Police charged Caban with escape, assault, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. He’s lodged in the Beaver County Jail.
