Cop Saved By Bulletproof Vest Talks to Beaver County Radio About The Incident One Month Later

It’s been exactly one month to the day that a Harmony Township police officer was shot while on patrol. Officer Alan Loskoch was on patrol early in the morning of October 28th when he saw a man trying to break into a car. The suspect shot at the officer, hitting Loskoch in the vest over his chest. Loskoch is feeling very thankful this Thanksgiving Day Holiday.  He credits his bulletproof vest with saving his life and says the experience was positive in several ways – It has made him more aware of his surroundings while on the job and it has also influenced other officers in the department to wear their bulletproof vests as well. Officer Loskoch was briefly hospitalized and just recently returned back to work. The suspect – Earl Hollins – turned himself in to Aliquippa police earlier this month. He faces charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault.
