Central Valley Wins Big Over Beaver 51-19

Friday night the Central Valley Warriors made the short trip to Beaver to take on the Bobcats in week 4 of the WPIAL High School football season. Both teams looking for their second win in conference play.

The first quarter was tight as the only points to show for were off of Central Valley junior kicker, Dominic Pratts’ toe. The Warriors carried a 3-0 score into the second frame. The Warriors woke up in the second quarter when Ethan Bosco and Conner Fitzgerald score on the ground on back to back possessions giving their team a 17-0 lead. Beaver would finally catch a break on their next possession when the punt team recovered a Central Valley fumble, giving the Bobcats good field position. Beaver was able to capitalize when Travis Clear hit Brennan Kostyak for a 15 yard touchdown toss putting them on the board 17-6. Central Valley responded with a quick 80 yard drive capped off by a touchdown pass of their own as Ethan Shearer hauled it in to increase his teams lead to 24-6. The Warriors managed to score 10 more points before the half giving them a 34-6 advantage at the break.

In the third quarter it was Dominic Pratt again putting it through the uprights, increasing the Warriors lead to 37-6. The Bobcats did find the end zone again when Travis Clear hit Philip Marino on a 45 yard pass play, narrowing the margin to 37-12. Only to be matched by a long touchdown pass by Braddock Ambrose to Aaron Lawson, making the score 44-12 at the end of three quarters of football.

With the game out of reach both teams traded fourth quarter touchdowns. For Central Valley its was Ethan Shearer on a 5 yard run. For Beaver, freshman Jax Weiss found pay dirt on a 87 yard tote. Making the final score 51-19.

Beaver (1-1, 2-3) will travel to Mcguffey next Friday. While Central Valley (1-1, 2-3) returns home to host Avonworth Friday at 7pm
