Virginia “Ginny” L. Tavern (1947-2026)

Virginia “Ginny” L. Tavern, 78, of Koppel, passed away peacefully at home on January 8th, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Beaver Falls on August 25th, 1947, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Louis and Nellie (Halsac) Ferrigno, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick A. “Buzzy” Tavern, her brother, Louis Ferrigno, Jr. and two sisters, Elizabeth Pizzella and Mary Lou Fillinger. She is survived by two daughters, Tiffany (John) Wayne of North Sewickley and Tonya Tavern of Koppel, three grandsons, Bryce and Colton Wayne and Tyler Knox and a sister, Jeannie Heinrich.

Virginia found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren, who brought endless smiles and laughter to her life. She had a lifelong love of polka dancing and could often be found on the dance floor at SNPJ, where she enjoyed music, friendship, and community. She also delighted in attending craft shows, always appreciating the creativity, colors, and handmade treasures she discovered along the way. In accordance with Virginia’s wishes, all services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, Inc., 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.
