Sophia Kelly, 97, of East Palestine, Ohio, passed away on October 25th, 2025, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Beaver Falls on December 7th, 1927, a daughter of the late Julius and Alexandria (Roginska) Kompa. She attended Our Lady of the Lourdes Roman Catholic Parish in East Palestine Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Kelly and her siblings: John Kompa, Chester Kompa, Helen Palyash, Eleanor Jansto, Jane Thompson and Lottie Bedekovich. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Dannie) McCuean and Linda (Dale) Androlia, her grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Gaulden, Dale (Jennifer) Androlia Jr., and Christopher (Shawna) Androlia and her great grandchildren: Heather Sommer, Sarah Jaine (Wyatt) Fenner, Easton, Sarah Kathryn, Hunter, Cooper, and Braedon; as well as a great-great grandchild, Stetson.
In Sophia’s past time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and reading. She loved taking care of her family.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 30th, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P..M at the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral home and Cremation Services Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road Beaver Falls, who was in charge of her arrangements, and where prayers will be held on Friday, October 31st at 10:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of the Lourdes Roman Catholic Parish, 210 E. Main Strett, East Palestine, Ohio.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2927 Clayton Road, Beaver Falls.
