Roy V. Gavert, Jr., 91, of Beaver, passed away with his family at his side on September 27th, 2025.
He was born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania on December 16th, 1933, a son of the late Roy and Margaret Gavert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Gavert and his sister, Jane Duffett. He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Rita Jay Gavert, his daughter, Judy (Blaine) Coffey, four
grandchildren: Christopher and Patrick Ragazzini, Brittney (Adam) Potts and Alexis (Patrick) Kelley; along with his great-grandchildren, James and Luke Potts and
Sloane Kelley.
Roy graduated from Bucknell University of Lewisburg, Pensylvania in 1955, served in
the U.S. Army and married his college sweetheart. He went on to receive his master’s degree from the University of Detroit of Detroit, Michigan. He was a resident of Beaver since 1969 who had a long career with Westinghouse Electric, retiring as an Executive Vice President in 1989. Roy was active in the business community, serving as a board member of both Bucknell University and the Michael Baker Corporation. He was a lifelong member of the Duquesne Club, a member of the Sewickley Gun Club and a former member of both Beaver Valley Country Club and Oakmont Country Club. he was also a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Beaver.
A memorial service for Roy will take place at a later date. Burial at Beaver Cemetery on Buffalo Street in Beaver will be private. Professional arrangements have been entrusted to the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
