Robert L. Squires, Jr., 76, of Hopewell Township, passed away on March 26th, 2025 in the VA Hospital Pittsburgh. He was born in Rochester on June 1st, 1948, the son of the late Robert L. Squires Sr. and Elizabeth E. Froehly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann “Jody” Squires. He is survived by his children: his favorite child, Ashley & Bruce Biggins Jr., Roberta & Zach Smith and JJ & Jeanne Hennessy; four grandchildren, Riley, Hayden, Benny and Taylor, his three sisters, Nancy (John) Simpson, Peggy Swogger and his seeing eye sister, Michele (Harold) Thomas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his dog, D.O.G.
Robert was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Army Veteran Serving during Vietnam. He was an avid sportsman. He loved to hunt and go fishing and was a member of the Southside Sportsman’s Club. He and his wife loved to go on rides on their Harley Davidson, taking numerous trips over the years. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins Fan.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Huntsman Funeral and Cremation Services.
