Robert L. Gallagher, 90, of Center Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in Cambridge Village. He was born in Monaca, PA on April 19, 1933, a son of the late Donald and Gladys Gallagher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth W. Gallagher and a brother Joseph Gallagher. He is survived by his wife: Shirley J. Gallagher, 2 children: R. Kevin Gallagher, and Deborah and Daniel Motter; 3 stepchildren: Rich and Eleanor Pike, Kathy Tolfa, and Dennis Pike; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and two sisters, Gladys Petroff and Edna Stewart.
He was a retired Metallurgist working with Pittsburgh Tube in Monaca. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a long-time member of Mt. Carmel Evangelical Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed working with the church work group. He loved going camping in his RV and sightseeing at National Parks. He was an avid sports fan, especially football. He was an all-star football player playing both sides of the ball at Monaca High School. Robert also was an avid gardener, being very proud of growing both vegetables and roses.
Friends will be received on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 4pm until 7pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa. Where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11am. Private interment will take place in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, of Hookstown, PA.
