Michael D. McPhee (1968-2025)

Michael D. McPhee, 57, of Beaver County, passed away peacefully with his brother by his side on April 27th, 2025, after a long battle with cancer at the Brighton Health and Wellness Center.

He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on April 20th, 1968, a son of the late Patricia Ann Rainey (Von Mueller). In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Von Mueller. He is survived by his children, his step-father, Eric Von Mueller and his wife Judith of Venice, Florida, his brother, Eric McPhee of North Carolina, and four sisters and their husbands: Michelle and Shawn McComiskey of Colchester, Connecticut, Andrea and Clay Rosser of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Alicia and Michael Byrne of Pensacola, Florida, and Marjorie and Laird McLeish of Virginia Beach, Virginia; as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Michael grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he worked as a carpenter. He moved to Beaver in the late 2000’s, continuing his career in carpentry. Michael had a unique enthusiasm  for life that was completely endearing. Even when faced with a terminal cancer diagnosis, he stayed positive. He was incredibly charming, and had a gift for making everyone feel special. He enjoyed the simple things in life: playing slots at the laundromat in Rochester, shopping at Goodwill and sitting by the river in Rochester watching the water. He spent his last months enjoying the time he had left to the fullest, and was particularly happy that his brother, Eric, had relocated to Pennsylvania to spend that time with him.

Michael’s brother and sister, Eric and Michelle, would like to thank the staff in Grove 1 at the Brighton Health and Wellness center for the care and compassion that they showed Michael, particularly Holly, Paula and Alicia. They would also like to thank several people for the incredible support they showed Michael over the last several years: Pastor Bill Blume and his wife Wanda, Charlie and Little Bailey, Rhonda Shelsky, Beth Huber, Mike Bailey, and Jennifer George.

Michael’s wishes for cremation will be honored and no services are being planned at this time.

The GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 340 3rd Street, Beaver, has been honored to provide care and guidance to Michael’s family during this time.
