Lucy H. Moussa, 65, passed away on April 13th, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Cairo, Egypt on August 29th, 1959, a daughter of the late Hafazalla Rafla Hafazalla and Laila Tawfek Abdelmalek. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Dr. John Moussa. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Samir Moussa, her beloved daughter, Monica (Michael) Walaan, her precious grandsons, Gabriel and Noah Walaan, her sisters, Suzan Rafla and Violet Rafla, and her cherished nieces and nephews.
Lucy spent her entire career of over 30 years, with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. She served as an Environmental Engineer, where she ensured the quality and safety of our drinking water.
Lucy lived a life dedicated to God. She served faithfully in the church and loved sharing the love of Christ with everyone she encountered. She always exemplified grace, gentleness, and thanksgiving in all of her circumstances.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church of Pittsburgh, 995 Melrose Avenue, Ambridge. The burial will take place immediately following at Mount Royal Cemetery, 2700 Mount Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. The family will share in a fellowship meal at St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church following the burial. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge.
