Kenneth D Rhodes, 71, a lifelong resident of Freedom, passed away on December 27th, 2024.
He was a son of the late Robert T. and Margaret V. Rhodes. He is survived by his cherished wife of 51 years, Cindy Rhodes, a bond of holy matrimony that stood as a testament to unwavering commitment and love. Their union was blessed with two children, Robert, (Mary) Rhodes and Miranda (Robert) Fehir who have continued Kenneth’s legacy. Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also basked in the warmth of his wisdom and grace. He is also survived by a sister Susan (Alan) Sochats, and his two brothers, Robert and Kevin Rhodes.
Kenneth’s journey through this life was marked by a tireless work ethic and a heart for service. Retiring from BOC Gases, he was a man of many trades, never one to rest when there were hands in need of help.
In the quiet moments, he found solace and strength in the Lord’s word. His alone time was spent in reflection, reading scripture, and listening to the divine whispers of his Creator. Daily walks became sacred times of prayer, moments of communion with his Savior, where he sought guidance and offered up prayers for his family, his friends, and the world at large.
Kenneth’s deep and abiding faith was evident in his advocacy for the sanctity of life. A powerful voice for the unborn, he stood firm in his convictions, a testament to his belief in the preciousness of every human life.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. People can say, “Until we meet again,” confident in the promise of our Lord, as written in Isaiah 40:31.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Oak Grove Church of Christ of Industry. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made, if desired in Ken’s memory to the City Rescue Mission, 319 S. Croton Avenue, New Castle, PA 16101.
