Doris Marie Ross, 80, formerly of Hopewell Township, and Melbourne, Florida, passed away on November 13th, 2024 in Rochester Manor. She was born in Rochester on May 24, 1944, a daughter of the late Joseph and Phyllis Speice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Ross and her siblings, Lee Speice, Don Speice, and Lois Malbouf.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan & Michael Camp, and Melissa & Ronald Munson, three grandchildren, Gabrielle Hardy, Sydney Munson and Colby Munson, and a great grandchild.
Doris was a retired kindergarten teacher from Hopewell Area School District. She also ran Little Muppet Nursery School. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her plants. She loved to travel, especially on cruises with her friends. She volunteered with numerous organizations, including Angels in the Attic in Florida and working with the giraffes at the zoo. Doris was a huge Pittsburgh Steeler fan and always kept a positive outlook on life.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 20th from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. in Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa.
Private interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.
