Darrell Everitt Schier, 79, of Brighton Township passed away on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 at the VA Medical Center of Butler.He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. and Mary Elizabeth (Fronko) Schier, and his brother Thomas. He is survived by his two daughters, Amy (Joel) Lindsey and their son Levi and Kristen Schier and her son Robbie. He is also survived by his beloved niece, Beth (David) Kingston, and his great-niece and nephew, Harmony and Garrison.
After bravely serving his country as a U S Army Vietnam veteran, Darrell returned home to put down roots in the place of his birth. He started his own business, Schier’s Straightening. His entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop there; Darrell also dedicated many years of service to Beaver County in various capacities and later retired from Home Depot in Chippewa as a driver.
He was known for his love of old cars and his ‘sweet tooth’ was legendary, especially around the holidays when he would delight family and friends with his homemade chocolates and sweets.
As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. He will be buried at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies of Bridgeville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services of Monaca.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to the Beaver County Humane Society.
